I came across these photos of Gwyneth Paltrow and couldn't resist sharing them with you! How gorgeous does she look?? The Hollywood darling has collaborated with Max Factor in their new advertising campaign to celebrate Max Factor's reign as one of makeup's most successful brands.

With Max Factor himself having worked with big Hollywood names such as Clara Bow, Jean Harlow and Judy Garland, the images show Paltrow transformed in to icons from the Fifties, Sixties, Seventies and Eighties.

Max Factor is one of my favourite affordable brands. Their False Lash Effect Mascara is a staple in my kit. Perfect for ensuring volume from root to tip, without smudging or flaking. I like to layer my mascara, combing through the lashes after each application to maximise that false lash effect that is clump free!

Primer Wars!

Primer Wars!

As a makeup artist I know that prepping the skin is key to me creating that flawless finish for a client. So, what better way to start my blog than by getting back to basics. With so many products on the market, finding the perfect primer can be a little overwhelming. Here are some of my favourite go-to primers - all with different textures and finishes so hopefully there's something to fulfil every girl's needs!

Shu Uemura POREraser

This primer is a saving grace for ladies with larger pores and fine lines. It completely evens out the skin tone, and refines the overall skin texture. It creates a perfectly smooth base to apply your makeup that is guaranteed to last all day.  Even better - this primer comes with SPF 35 so that you can look your best and protect your skin at the same time. Be warned - a little bit goes a long way! This is a mousse that comes out quickly from the canister, so you only need a walnut sized dollop to cover your entire face.

Illamasqua Hydra Veil

This is probably my favourite primer of the moment that pretty much suits every skin type. It's amazing for people with combination skin. Hydra Veil rehydrates dry areas, whilst minimising shine on oily parts of the face thanks to its gel like nature. Again, you don't need a lot of this product to cover your entire face as once you start working with it; it glides across your face like water! It leaves a tacky layer that your makeup immediately clings to and stays looking fresh all day!

Giorgio Armani Fluid Master Primer

If you’re looking for luxury then this is the primer for you! It comes with a higher than average price tag so I tend to save it for special occasions or a night out. The gel creates a matt finish that evens out skin tone and reduces lines and pores. It literally leaves your skin feeling like silk – the perfect canvas to work on top of!

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer

For those ladies that are blessed with a gorgeous even skin tone that needs minimal (if any!) makeup, then this primer is fabulous for giving your skin that little bit of va-va-voom! With light diffusing pigments helping to mask any imperfections, it’s perfect for those days when your natural skin is lacking some shine and you want to create that healthy luminous glow!
